Polar Bear Light

My theme animal is polar bear. First, I made 100 swatches about the animal. I chose to use round drop shape swatches to represent water and its body shape. For colors, I mainly focused on three aspects: Living environment, Food, and Polar bear itself.
I wanted to show the fact that polar bear doesn't drink water. It gets water by breaking down body fat through biochemical reactions. Nowadays, in order to gain fat, it has to swim much farther than before to hunt because the global warming makes glaciers and ice sheets smaller. Personally, making illuminating objects is always my interest, so I decided to present this fact through a light.

A prototype
The twisted geometric shape that has larger upper part and smaller base represents two concepts. First one is the process of turning fat into water, a process that turns big complex molecules into small basic molecules. The yellow fibre represents fat, and the blue fibre and transparent columns represents water. Secondly, the shape reflects nowadays melting glaciers and gives a sense of unstable, showing that global warming is gradually destroying many creatures' living environments.
